ABOUT

Dr. Trudi L. Perkins

Leadership Consultant / Race and Equity Strategist

Dr. Trudi L. Perkins is an educator, racism awareness development consultant, and author. She is the founder and CEO of Momentum Enterprises, which partners with organizations across all industries to facilitate equitable and racism-free solutions to today’s most challenging issues. Taking a lead from Dr. Carter G. Woodson, she is passionate in her belief that education is a key factor to ending racism. For the past decade, Dr. Perkins has explored how the use of creative speculative frameworks and emergent strategies can play a crucial role in influencing racial change.

As someone who grew up during the civil rights movement of the 1960s and 1970s, Trudi has always been troubled by the injustices exhibited in society. As a self-professed bookworm, she recognizes that it is not a coincidence that her love for knowledge and her passion for racial justice have come together in the form of this book.  Dr. Trudi Perkins uses this book to model for readers the way to examine past experiences for insights into how they intertwine with the contemporary displays of anti-Black racism. Dr. Trudi recognizes that when it comes to anti-racist efforts, creativity can serve as a critical bridge to learning!
